Forrest Spence 5k
Race Information (afterwards)
Thank you for your participation of the 10th annual Forrest Spence 5K. It was a wonderful success; new fundraising and attendance benchmarks were achieved, and we are grateful for your support in making it possible!
August 26th was a beautiful day in Memphis. Volunteers arrived to start setting up in the early morning hours, and by sunrise Memphis Botanic Garden was ready for our 1851 guests to have a great time. In the end, over $134,000 was raised to benefit hurting families in our community! We so appreciate the generosity and commitment of our sponsors and 100 race volunteers… your support makes the mission of the Forrest Spence Fund a reality.
Once again, we are excited to hear feedback that families count on and look forward to this child-friendly event every August. The same people come back year after year, and encourage their friends, family and co-workers to attend as well, contributing to the steady growth we see annually in numbers. Our goal is to grow the 5K each year and always look ahead for innovations to keep it a priority for so many. For the fourth year in a row Christ Methodist Day School was given the top honor of largest team with 239 participants and largest fundraising team went to Team Lucy Williford.
