NICU Development Center

The mission of the Forrest Spence Fund NICU Development Center is to provide stimulation that fosters growth and learning to NICU babies who face a high risk of developmental delays. The NICU Development Center will serve as an avenue to promote development through feeding skills, movement, language, social interaction, and visual skills to make the transition from the NICU to home easier for babies and their families. 

The Forrest Spence Fund NICU Development Center is located within the NICU at the following Children's Hospitals:

  2. Children's Hospital at Erlanger

  3. Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

  4. Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital

The NICU Developmental Center houses necessary items for trained developmental staff (i.e., therapists and child life specialists) to promote the health and wellbeing of NICU babies. 

The Development Center contains items such as rattles, crib mirrors, swaddles, books, links, light-up items, high chairs, playmats with boundaries, and other developmental items.
