A Warm Welcome to Marilyn

We are overjoyed to share our newest hire, Program Director Marilyn Bridges! As she sets up her desk during her first day at the Fund, we took a minute to get to know her a little better…and we wanted to share what we learned with you!

Native to the area, Marilyn was born and raised in Southaven, MS, and graduated from Delta State University. After a life full of travel, she is “looking forward to serving and meeting families” with the hope of “supporting the great work of the Forrest Spence Fund.” Not only does Marilyn wish to support families throughout the Mid-South, but she is also hoping to spread awareness and knowledge about childhood illness. In all of this, Marilyn holds a goal of investing “in something with a greater purpose” and chose to do this at the Fund because she loves “the mission to help others in their time of need.”

Marilyn brings so many gifts to the Fund, including her love of meeting new people and serving those in need. Her past work in creating travel arrangements has prepared her well for the role of Program Director. Marilyn is organized, affable, and great at planning—three characteristics critical in this job!

When Marilyn isn’t at the Fund, you can most likely find her spending time with her husband, daughters, and friends! She loves to cook, decorate, and travel—experiences all made richer when they are with loved ones.

Fitting for her adventurous nature, she shared quite the story when we asked for a fun fact about herself. After being engaged for a mere three weeks, Marilyn got married to the love of her life on a trail at Glacier National Park in Montana. We couldn’t think of a more fitting wedding venue for her! She has now been happily married for twenty-three years and added two sweet daughters to their loving family.

We welcome Marilyn to the FSF team with open arms and cannot wait to see how her time and talent further the mission of the Fund!
