28. Dana Defenbaugh - A Family Story

Dana and Bill Defenbaugh are lifelong Mississippians, who in 2008, were pursuing their careers in pharmaceutical sales and finance, respectively, and anxiously awaiting the birth of their first daughter Nowell. Little did they know that their lives were about to quickly change forever! Following an otherwise healthy pregnancy, Nowell was born at just 24 weeks due to a placental abruption. This began their journey through cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a feeding tube, and numerous other health issues that led them to LeBonheur which they still lovingly refer to as their Memphis home. Dana shares their story of the highs and lows of a special needs child and the grief process following Nowell’s death in 2013. Today they’re thankful for each lesson learned and know that it‘s those lessons guiding them as they enjoy raising their precious  daughter Minelle.
