David Spence - President

David, along with his wife Brittany, founded the Forrest Spence Fund in memory of their son Forrest. David was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated with his BA from the University of Tennessee, received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is employed as a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. He currently serves on the Family Partners Council at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and as a medical advisor to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He loves traveling, fishing, music, and spending time with friends and family.

Leah Greene - Secretary

Leah is a Memphis native and Evangelical Christian School alumna. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Baptist Health Sciences University. Leah earned a BA in Political Science from Texas A&M University, a JD from Texas Tech University School of Law, and an LLM in Health Law from University of Houston Law Center. She lived and worked in Houston from 1999 until 2016 and was named Junior Partner at a medical malpractice defense firm. While in Houston, she volunteered with Bo’s Place, which provides free of charge grief counseling for families who have lost a child or parent. Outside of work, Leah spends time with her family, runs and enjoys movies.

Gregg Smith - Treasurer

Gregg has been married to Valerie Hyde Smith since 1998. They have a son, Witt, and a daughter, Emily. Gregg grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas and graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelors and Masters in Accounting. He has worked in various accounting and finance roles for a number of private and public companies with a focus on start-ups. He also experienced the Le Bonheur Emergency Department and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit when he lost his first daughter, Mary Witten, in a car accident in 1996 that also took the life of his first wife, Laurie. He loves cooking, traveling, cycling and spending time with his family.

William C. Martin

William was born in Houston, Texas, and moved to Memphis at the age of eight. After graduating from Evangelical Christian High School, he received an Engineering Science and Mechanics degree with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering and a business minor from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. William’s first job was in the financial industry as a money manager, research analyst, and an introducing broker in the Futures Markets. He is currently employed as Chief Investment Officer at Steel Grove Capital Advisors. William enjoys hunting, fishing, Tennessee football, exercising, friends, family, promoting the Forrest Spence Fund, and spending time with his wife Ashley and daughters Carlisle, Hattie, and Margot.

Christine Perkinson

Christine Perkinson is from Phillipsburg, PA and now lives in Nashville, TN. She went to undergrad at the University of Delaware and received a bachelor of science in athletic training. She then went on to grad school at Drexel University where she received her doctorate in physical therapy. Christine worked at the Children’s Hospital at Philadephia as a physical therapist and then moved to Memphis and worked at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics. She is married to Brian Perkinson and they have 3 children. Christine is a big part of our event planning, fundraising, and volunteers in Nashville. She enjoys climbing mountains, coaching youth sports, running, hiking, and spending time with her family.
