Giving Back Program

A Path to Healing

The Giving Back Program provides a tangible way for anyone who has experienced the challenges of childhood illnesses to heal and grow by serving other families experiencing similar trials. When a loved one is ill or has passed away, it can be hard to find healing and hope. Our goal is to come alongside those who have experienced these trials and offer them practical help. Whether you wish to honor a family member who experienced a critical or chronic illness or mourn and heal after the loss of a family member, we want to support you.

We come alongside families with a desire to give back by helping them design an avenue by which they can honor, celebrate, or memorialize the life of a loved one by meeting the needs of children and hospitals in the Mid-South. We help families create, implement, and complete their unique vision whatever it might be. In the past, families have chosen to distribute items such as crib mobiles, CD players, or lovies. Others have brought their communities together by asking them to donate time or money to the Forrest Spence Fund in honor of their loved one. Each program we implement is family-specific.

Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one or facing an ongoing battle against a chronic illness in your family, we know that grieving, healing, and growing is a necessary process that cannot be avoided. At the Forrest Spence Fund, we offer emotional support and professional counseling to families. However, we are honored to also offer the Giving Back Program as an additional way to acknowledge the difficulties and the journey your family has been on by reaching out and supporting those who are traveling a similar path after you. Thank you for doing the hard work of healing and growing and thank you for supporting other families on their own journeys.
